Minister of Tourism and Culture of the TRNC, Ustal Unel, said that North Cyprus in the past participated in 9 international tourism fairs, but this year, visited a record 31. He also said that since he took on the position of the minister, the number of charter flights has increased to 17 this year, and it is expected North Cyprus will be visited by more than 700,000 tourists in 2013. The Minister also added that two charter flights landing in North Cyprus weekly.
"Our task is to increase the number of charter flights to 25%. Our ministry is doing everything possible to do so. Flights from Germany arrive almost every day. We want to see an increasing number of tourists, not only for the summer, but throughout the whole year. "
TRNC tourism ministry visited many exhibitions in various regions, especially paying attention to Scandinavian countries. During a recent visit to the exhibition of tourism in Dubai, the organizers invited local residents to get acquainted with information about the country, historical monuments, and local cuisine.
