Starting from June 15, 2025, new water tariffs will take effect in Northern Cyprus, affecting both municipalities and agricultural users.
The price of drinking water supplied from Türkiye will rise significantly, from 9.80 Turkish lira to 18.28 lira per cubic meter. Even in areas that use local water sources, the new rate will be 18.28 lira per cubic meter, based on updated measurement regulations.
In regions that have not yet received Turkish-supplied water, the tariff will now range between 7 and 17 lira per cubic meter, up from the previous range of 3 to 8 lira.
The tariff for agricultural water will also increase, from 4.90 to 8.55 lira per cubic meter, regardless of whether the source is local or imported.
Final consumer prices will be determined by each municipality individually under the new law.
For property owners and investors in Northern Cyprus, this means an increase in utility costs, which should be considered when buying, renting, or selling real estate.
