The Prime Ministry’s Disaster and Emergency Committee has issued an important advisory as severe weather conditions continue to affect several regions across the country.
Throughout the day, many areas have experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by strong, sometimes storm-level winds. According to the latest reports from the Meteorology Department, rainfall is expected to intensify toward the evening, with winds strengthening further. These conditions may lead to reduced visibility, water accumulation on roads, and an increased likelihood of localized flooding.
The committee’s coordination center is actively monitoring the situation in cooperation with district authorities, local municipalities, the Civil Defense Organization, Kıb-Tek, and emergency medical teams. All units have been placed on full alert.
Residents are strongly advised to remain indoors unless absolutely necessary. Drivers should exercise maximum caution, as water-covered road surfaces, slippery conditions, and sudden visibility drops may occur. The public is also urged to stay away from riverbeds, low-lying flood-risk zones, coastal areas, and open spaces exposed to strong winds and heavy rainfall.
The committee emphasized the importance of following official announcements and taking all necessary precautions to stay safe during the severe weather period.
