Cyprus peace talks to resume in October this year

Alexander Downer, UN special adviser in Cyprus matter has stated that he anticipates the peace talks to start in October, after a stall of over a year. Peace talks meetings have stopped for 14 months now, partly due to economic crisis in South Cyprus and its need for bailout.
“They are looking to start talks in October”, said Mr. Downer, “ a lot of work needs to be done before then”.
